Kaitlyn Maclean

CHC Advisory Committee

Kaitlyn grew up in rural Manitoba on a hobby farm surrounded by animals and was an avid equestrian competitor throughout her youth. She pursued a career as a veterinarian, which took her to Cold Lake, Alberta.

Kaitlyn's interest in dog agility started there in 2014 with Pawsitive Dog Sports, a NADAC agility club. It is also in Cold Lake that Kaitlyn met her now husband, Duncan, a member of the Canadian Air Force. Since then, military postings have sent them to London, Ontario and Ottawa, Ontario where they now reside with their three dogs, two cats, and one horse.

In her spare time, Kaitlyn volunteers with the rescue “Bullies in Need”, helping dogs affected by BSL.

Kaitlyn's equestrian experience in dressage and show jumping, her veterinary background, and her experience in Nadac agility have resulted in her interest in the sport of Hoopers and a desire to make dog sports safer and more accessible for both dogs and handlers
